Perfect Project Planning specialises in Scope, Time and Cost Management using The Critical Path Method, Microsoft PROJECT, and other software tools.

Perfect Project Planning emphasises the most practical and productive application of the principles, methods and tools for all kinds of projects and project environments.

In a modern, demanding business environment, projects must be managed. There is no acceptable substitute for getting it right.

Successful, effective Project Management starts with:

  • A thorough appreciation and a clear understanding of the fundamental concepts and principles, and thorough knowledge of the basics.
  • Rigorous, disciplined application of reliable, proven and effective methods, such as the Critical Path Method. It is simple and elegant and powerful, like all of the best ideas.
  • Fluent, practical and productive use of the available software tools. Obviously, software helps, but only if you know how to use it.

We like this:

The general who loses a battle makes but few calculations beforehand. Thus do many calculations lead to victory, and few calculations to defeat: how much more no calculation at all! It is by attention to this point that I can foresee who is likely to win or lose.” ~ Sun Tzu (The Art Of War)

And this:

Stephen Devaux, in Total Project Control:
“That CPM is still so neglected and unknown in the corporate world, more than 40 years after its discovery, is a disgrace. Senior managers who balk about projects slipping, yet take no action to enforce good CPM practices, are providing a disservice to their companies.”
